What is Equus Coaching?
Equus Coaching is essentially life coaching with horses. But it’s so much more than that.

When I discovered Equus Coaching five years ago, I was thrilled to have found the marriage of two of my greatest passions, helping people and horses. I went to a weekend retreat hosted by Equus founder Koelle Simpson. My experiences at the Equus Coaching weekend profoundly changed me. I was able to cut through the noise in my head. I changed my old, limiting ways of thinking that prevented me from following through on what my gut, my center, told me to do. I connected with my true self and gained clarity about the next steps I needed to take to live my best life. My Equus experience was empowering and inspiring, and it transformed the way I lived my life.
Since that weekend, I have completed the year-long program to become an Equus Coach, and an additional year-long program to become a Master Facilitator Equus Coach.

The power in Equus Coaching lies in the wisdom of horses. Horses are prey animals and have evolved to be highly aware of their environment. And, horses are always looking for a leader. So, when you interact with a horse, the horse asks itself if you are the leader. Are you aligned and connected with your true inner wisdom and guidance system? Or are you hijacked by the thoughts in your head? Another way that horses survive as prey animals is by mirroring back feelings. Horses communicate to the herd if they need to flee a potential predator or if it is safe to relax and eat. In an Equus session, when you are centered, aligned with your true emotions, the horse connects with you as a leader. I partner with the horse to help clients gain insight into how your negative internal dialogue shapes your world in ways that you don’t want. I help you identify and transform your mind chatter into thoughts that align with your inspired goals. Experiential learning is the fastest, most powerful way to learn; when you see your thinking and energy affects the horse, the insight is anchored into your body and your memory. At the end of an Equus session, I will give you a personalized practice to integrate your insight into your life outside of the round pen.
I conduct Equus sessions for individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have several exercises with the horses that will highlight group dynamics and communication styles in relationships. Clients find the group Equus experience insightful, bonding, and fun!
Your equine experience occurs all on the ground, with no riding and no horse experience necessary.
An Equus session is often magical, always powerful.
