Psychotherapy is a deeper dive into experiences have created self-sabotaging patterns that are preventing my clients from creating the life they want. It is important to me to develop a collaborative, safe relationship with each client. I integrate several different approaches as needed, ranging from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), life coaching, to positive psychology. My goal is to help people create lasting change. People come to me with a wide range of issues including divorce, life transitions, marital conflict, weight loss, substance abuse, premarital concerns, burnout, low self-esteem, stress, grief, parenting teens, and co-dependency.

In addition to helping clients with these issues, I specialize in the following areas:
- Mood disorders – Anxiety and depression are very common, though often not talked about in our community. My approach to mood disorders is research-based cognitive-behavioral therapy. I teach tools for reducing symptoms so that my client can begin to get some relief quickly and develop skills to continue improvement. My clients use these tools to manage their emotions for the rest of their lives. In addition to teaching these practical strategies, I join my client in exploring the underlying causes of the anxiety and/or depression and help my client overcome them.
- Relationship Issues – Partnership can be difficult, and we don’t receive a handbook on how to create and maintain a happy longterm relationship! I conduct therapy to help partners stop patterns of blame, defensiveness, and criticism, and develop more positive ways of communicating and being intimate. I have been trained in the Gottman method of couples therapy, which is research-based and the premier method of couples therapy.
- Life Transitions – Navigating life transitions can be tough. Whether dealing with divorce, marriage, job loss, a new job, pivoting in one’s career, or becoming an empty-nester, it is important to keep a centered sense of self as one goes through these changes. Clarity helps people make the best, most empowering decisions for themselves. Often people going through a major transition complain of anxiety, confusion, and fear. I help people go through these life transitions with as much peacefulness, resourcefulness, and clarity as possible.
